These days with media technologies booming, yet the economy slowing down, the turn around time and the budgets on mainy projects have gotten smaller. Often times this means sacrficing quality, often shooting video rather than celluloid film. And this meant you loose that look, that quality, that classic aesthetic we collectively know and loveas Film, with a capitol F. Aside from the 24p look, a shallow depth of field and an undescribable yet desireable "grain" is the look we have all come to expect and respect as "quality".
NOW, the PRO35 Adapter, gives you the best of both worlds. This adapter, maintains the look-and feel of producing moving images on 35mm film. Shooting on video was long time said to be esthetically restricted and to produce a rather flat image compared to a 35mm film image. The PRO35 Image Converter makes 35mm motion picture lenses available for videographers and digital filmmakers. Now shifting focus between details and by doing this taking the viewer through an image became a full range feature for video images.
With this convergent device, a 2/3” video camera can capture the same depth-of-field, focal length and angle-of-view as 35mm film. No longer restricted by a limited number of video lens options, a video camera operator can now get creative with hundreds of lens choices up to now the exclusive realm of 35mm filmmakers.
The Pro35 Digital Image Converter allows broadcast videographers and digital filmmakers to attach any Arri PL mounted prime 35mm film lens to their high definition (HD) or standard definition (SD) 2/3î video camera to obtain the three-dimensional quality of a 35mm film camera on videotape.
Benefits
With this convergent device, a 2/3î video camera can capture the same depth of field, focal length and angle of view as 35mm film. No longer restricted by a limited number of video lens options, a 2/3î video camera operator can now get creative with hundreds of lens choices that up to now were the exclusive realm of 35mm filmmakers. By offering the three-dimensional quality of film, the Pro35Digital Adapter dramatically expands the look, definition and potential use of both HD and SD 2/3î format video.
How It Works
The Pro35Digital projects the 16x22mm image produced by a 35mm lens onto an specially designed, eccentrically moving ground glass. This image is then relayed to the 2/3 inch sensor of the electronic camera on a reduced scale while maintaining depth-of-focus and angle-of-view. Contrast is improved and colors have a more natural appearance.
