Panasonic introduced the P2 card as an easy, durable ENG acquisition
medium. Since it is solid state, there are no moving parts that
can go wrong so it's great for being out in the field. Also, the
transfer rate is snappy when you plug it directly into a PCMCIA
slot on a laptop. Or, you can use the camera itself as a deck
to transfer the footage. A common workflow is to have one P2 card
recording in the camera while your transferring footage from the
other. The P2 card also allows for recording in the HVX200 native
"N" formats. Here are some capacities for the P2 cards
based on the different record formats:
One 16GB card:
