A Sony developed Real Time MPEG encoding and decoding system that
provides efficient MPEG-2 compression. With the Real Time HD Codec
Engine, recording and playback of high definition video is possible
on the same cassettes used for MiniDV recording.
Three-chip Advanced HAD™ CCD Imaging System
Images are captured on three-chip Advanced HAD™ CCD system
that provides increased detail and improved video performance
without the color bleeding found in other system. The enhanced
CCD design also allows for more light to reach the imager, which
reduces video noise and improves signal-to-noise ratio by up to
6db (2x better than a standard CCD).
